Over the past 20 years, some of my evenings involved either blackjack sessions at online casinos or catching a game while placing a few bets. But in 2022, everything shifted when Ontario's regulator, the AGCO, officially opened the doors to legal online casinos. Some of the 70+ licensed Ontario casinos were familiar, others completely new. As a casual player, I've tried more than a dozen brands over the years but I've never dug as deep as I did to put this article together. For those curious about where to play, here's my breakdown of the best Ontario online casinos and how they stack up against one another.

The Ontario casinos listed below are ranked in order of safety, game selection, legal compliance and many other factors that I'll cover later.

Ranking All 71 Licensed Ontario Casinos - My Rating & Takeaways

The Ontario iGaming market is continuing to grow, but as of now, I've ranked the following sites and will continue to add to the list as I rate and evaluate other casinos that now hold an AGCO license.

How I've Rated The Ontario Casinos Above?

I put a lot of work into rating and reviewing the licensed online casinos in Ontario. I've looked at the companies themselves to see if there have been any legal issues they're trying to hide and to see if they've been fined. If they have, I'm including the reasons for the fines and the amount fined in my reviews.

I've also checked to ensure that the amount of deposit options being offered are comparable against other Top Ontario casinos. The same goes for the withdrawal options too. There's no point in having 12+ ways to deposit money if you can only cashout your winnings two or three ways.

Another thing that's a bit unique to my reviews is that I am doing my utmost where possible to list the exact number of games available. A lot of affiliate sites don't mention this and just give a ballpark figure. I've actually, on numerous occasions, manually counted all the games at the casino. It's time consuming, but it does mean you get the correct information. There's a difference between 1,000+ and 1,762 games!.

There are other things I look at which most affiliate sites will cover such as responsible gambling, safety protocols, mobile gaming, etc., but I've also taken things to another level with a special feature that you'll find on all my reviews for Ontario online casinos and this is section called 'Player Beware'. This exclusive Top10Casinos section is where I provide you with warnings that others won't. If there's something you need to be aware of in relation to a brand, you'll find it prominently displayed here.

Now that you know how I've rated all the Ontario casinos above, why not give them a read and see if I've covered everything. If there's something you'd like to see, by all means get in touch and I'd be happy to add it.

Ontario Casino Bonuses - What Types Are Available?

Ontario online casinos do offer bonuses although I am prohibited from going into details about them in any of my reviews due to regulation requirements by the AGCO and if you want to find out the specifics you are required to visit the casino website. In saying that, I can let you know the types of bonuses and promotions that you can expect to find.

No Deposit Bonuses

By far the most sought after (I love a good no deposit bonus) these are special offers designed to encourage new players to create an account. There are a number of Ontario casinos on my list that have them including Classic and Kingdom. The key word of course is 'no deposit' meaning you get to play real money games without having to make a deposit first. My experience has found that while these are great, the wagering requirements and the max cashout limits are usually terrible.

Signup Bonuses - Deposit Matches & Free Spins

All the licensed online casinos in Ontario have sign up bonuses. These are reserved for new players and can consist of percentage deposit matches up to a fixed amount and deposit matches with free spins. Again, I have found that checking the wagering requirements and any cashout limitations is key to finding the best bonuses. Sometimes what looks great isn't all it's cracked up to be when you read the actual terms and conditions.

Ontario Casino Games - Great Variety & Top Software Providers

One thing I've thoroughly enjoyed when testing the different Ontario online casinos is the games. Like any online casino you're going to find a full library along with slots, table and card games, specialty games, and live dealers. I always look for free demo play so I can see what's on offer before I create an account and advise caution if this is missing or if the casino doesn't even let you see the games you can play without opening an account first (I'm looking at you Jackpot City).

Slots - Online Gaming's Top Attraction

Who doesn't enjoy spinning the reels? I'm a big fan of Pragmatic Play's Big Bass series of slots at the moment and most of the top Ontario casinos I've reviewed have these games. The fisherman and those coin collect symbols are a cool mechanic and I love the new features that are added with each new game.

Besides Pragmatic Play slots, I've also found a great deal of Megaways and Bonus Buys from other software providers and of course there's Games Global for all the Mega Moolah fans. I have yet to hit the Mega jackpot but I'm always hopeful. New games are released every month which is another reason I think slots are so popular, you have no fear of getting bored.

Blackjack - Easy to Learn but Hard to Master

This is my personal favorite out of all the casino card games. I enjoy the anticipation and I like testing out different strategies. It also has pretty good odds. I have found that Ontario casinos, especially those with Games Global, have a solid range of blackjack variants like Atlantic City, Vegas Strip, and multi-hand variants. I'm also partial to playing with the live dealers. It feels real and I like being able to chat as well and add on some side bets for a little extra excitement. I've found LeoVegas Ontario has a great live dealer section.

Roulette and More - Including Crash Games

You can probably tell which games I prefer as they've gotten their own headings, but I am also trying to prevent this page from getting so long that your finger aches from scrolling. Roulette is a popular choice with American, European, and even French Roulette at Ontario casinos. I always prefer roulette with live dealers for some reason, but there are some good RNG versions too.

Scratch cards, Instant win, keno, craps, bingo, you name it, I've seen it, and played it during my tests of the licensed casino sites in Ontario. I've also found that I really enjoy crash games. These are relatively newish (in popularity anyway). Spribe released Aviator back in 2018 but I've only really seen these types of games being popularised in the past three years. If you like speed and risk, they are definitely the ones to try.
