PowerPlay Ontario online casino and sports book was launched in 2023, but the brand had been operational since 2018 in other jurisdictions. iGaming rules changed in 2021, introducing new regulating bodies for the province, hence the need for an Ontario site[1]. I recently tested PowerPlay mobile apps, the games lobby, the banking page, and customer support options.

I share my honest opinion about each in the sections below. Before going in, here's a brief overview of the important details:

What You Need to Know:

What I liked: The lobby has 900+ games with variety from 8 game studios.

What I Didn't Like: Players have complained about waiting longer than the 0-4 hours withdrawal processing period.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

My Experience - Easy To Find Games, But Withdrawals Can Be Slow

PowerPlay Ontario invested heavily in creating a unique user experience, which really impressed me. You can toggle the theme between dark and red modes. I chose the red mode because it was easy on my eyes. Links to the sports site and live casino are listed at the top. Right below that are popular game categories like blackjack, slots, roulette, and poker.

The promo section follows next, then sections showing the top game in each game category. I liked the little dance each game does when you hover over it. Results load fast, but you must type at least 4 characters in the search area to begin the search. There's no option to list games by developer, which I think is an important feature to have if a casino has over 900 games.

PowerPlay Ontario promises a 0-4 hour wait period on withdrawals, but player reviews tell a different story. Several complaints from players on TrustPilot paint the casino in bad light, with members having to bear long waits for payouts that should ideally be processed in hours[2].

Customer support agents do not offer much help and complex verification procedures lead to further delays. I think sending copies of identification documents and proof of address is enough, but PowerPlay Ontario also requires you to send a facial scan[2].

Player Beware: Players' Accounts Locked After Technical Glitches

Last Updated: Tues. Jul. 22, 2025

Be warned that PowerPlay Ontario does not address player complaints quickly, even when the mistake is clearly on the casino's end. I found a review from an Ontario player who had to wait for more than 5 days after being locked out of a user account.

According to the review, the player had withdrawn using the same email before, so it should have worked again. The issue came when two withdrawals totalling CA$5,000 remained pending for more than advertised (0-4 business hours). After back on forth with support agents, the account was locked with CA$4400 balance and the player was told that 'programmers were actively trying to fix the bug'[3].

PowerPlay Bonuses for Ontario

Ontario gaming regulations restrict third-party sites like this one from promoting bonuses. Therefore, I will not share the details here, but I can say that PowerPlay Ontario does offer a sign up bonus and regular promos for players. Open the Casino Bonus page on the PowerPlay website and scroll through the list of promos to see what suits you.

Games and Software - Good Presentation, I Could View Games Before Registration

PowerPlay Ontario won me over with its unique game presentation. I love that you can view games without a registered user profile. However, viewing is all you get for free. If you wish to try demo games, go ahead and sign up first.

The lobby has 900+ games, most of which are slots. These are supplied by 8 game studios, including my favorites like Games Global (for jackpots) and Playtech, Relax Gaming, and Big Time Gaming (for slots). Evolution is also among the software providers, so I already know the live dealer section has top-quality games.

After clicking on one of the categories listed across the top of the games page, the results narrow down to show the type of games you selected and subcategories. I started with slots, which had subcategories like Megaways, Instant Win, and Popular Slots. Table games subcategories include Blackjack, Card & Dice, Keno, Baccarat and Roulette.

Payment Methods - 6 Options, But Fast Withdrawals Don't Always Happen

6 deposit and withdrawal options are accepted by PowerPlay Ontario. The terms indicate that payouts via credit cards and e-wallets are instant after a 0-4 hour pending period. That might not always be the case, according to player comments on TrustPilot. I found tens of complaints from players who had to wait for days before their withdrawals were processed. The support agents don't seem to be in a hurry to resolve complaints, making matters worse[2].

Minimum deposit and withdrawal limits are CA$10. There's also a CA$20,000 maximum daily withdrawal limit and a CA$100,000 weekly withdrawal limit. The limits are great if you win a jackpot, but I advise you to weigh all the options when you select a banking option, as I know they do have varying transaction limits.

Your first withdrawal, together with all subsequent withdrawals over CA$100 are free. But be aware that the casino charges a 3% fee for any withdrawals below CA$100. It seems PowerPlay Ontario may not be friendly to players who place small wagers.

Customer Support - Slow to Respond, Poor Player Feedback

My experience with customer support mirrors the player complaints on gambling forums. They are slow to respond and do not offer much help, claiming that their systems have issues and a technical team is working to resolve them[3].

I do like that they have instant chat and a human responds to you instead of a bot. You can also speak to support on phone, using the number +12494441331, the email support@powerplay.com, WhatsApp or Facebook.

Licensing, Security, Responsible Gambling - AGCO License And Multiple Self-Limit Tools

PowerPlay Ontario is owned by Trillium Ventures Limited, which got licensed to offer services in 2023 under license number OPIG1242190. The license will expire on Feb 27, 2026, so it is safe to play on the site.

This casino encourages members to gamble responsibly and has multiple tools to help players set loss and deposit limits. You can set time-out periods between 24 hours and 3 months or take drastic measures like self-exclusion. Where professional help is needed, PowerPlay gives you links to Canadian responsible gambling sites like Connex Ontario, Gamblers Anonymous and Gambling Therapy. This is something that is required of all AGCO licensed online casinos in Ontario and we recommend implementing the RG tools to ensure a safer gambling experience.

PowerPlay Ontario On Mobile - The iOS App Was My Favorite

I loved the PowerPlay Ontario iOS app. It loads fast, has a great user interface and takes up so little storage space. The Android app is good too, and so is the web version that loads on most mobile browsers. Told to pick a favorite, I'd go for the iOS app.

Final Verdict - Unique Design, Mobile Apps, But Slow Withdrawals

There's a lot to love about PowerPlay Ontario. The landing page design with two themes is unique and the mobile apps are super-convenient. 900+ games in the lobby with 95 live dealer games seemed good enough to me.

What I don't like is the false advertising of 0-4 hour pending period on withdrawals. Clearly, there is a big problem when tens of players leave complaints about long waits for withdrawals. I hope the casino is working to fix this!
