PointsBet Ontario - Slightly Small, But Good Games
Verdict: PLAY WITH CAUTION Player Beware ConnexOntario 19+ OnlyPointsBet Ontario was early on the provincial scene, arriving in 2022. I've got to say that the overall total of games is on the modest side, but among the multiple software developers are some of the best around. In addition, players can engage in sports betting. In my review I've cast a critical eye over the available games, banking methods, and everything else worth considering.

What You Need to Know:
- Launched 2022
- Minimum deposits $10
- Mobile apps
- Interac supported
- Sports betting section
What I liked: Good set of banking methods
What I Didn't Like: Slots navigation could be slicker
My Rating: 3.4 out of 5

My Experience - More Sportsbook Than Casino, Good Banking Variety, Below Average Gaming Library
PointsBet Ontario feels a bit more like a sportsbook with a casino side than a casino with a sports betting side. It's got a fantastic Help Centre which may avert the need to contact customer support, but the search functions for slots etc could be rather better. I also wish the font size was just slightly larger. The gaming library is a little on the small side, but the different banking methods are nice and varied.
I also like the range of responsible gambling tools and mobile app accessibility. But there has been a rather high profile problem when it comes to responsible gambling in the past.

Player Beware: Serious Responsible Gambling Fine
Last Updated: Tues. Jul. 29, 2025
PointsBet Ontario had the unfortunate distinction in 2023 of receiving a fine of $150,000 from the AGCO[1]. This was due to failings regarding one high risk customer who lost more than half a million dollars in three months. At no point did the casino take action, despite repeated cancelled withdrawals and there was no cooling off period following the removal of deposit limits. Needless to say, this didn't exactly raise my opinion of the casino.
PointsBet Casino Ontario - Bonuses Are Available
I can confirm that PointBet Ontario offers bonuses which may include free spins, but cannot go into any details. This is due to the AGCO's view that providing details counts as promotion and this is banned. Apologies to readers, but obviously I have to comply with AGCO rulings and can only advise you to check the fine print of any bonus.
Games and Software Section - Smaller Than Average, Searching Could Be Better
Games are the meat and potatoes of online casinos, and various high quality studios provide the gaming portfolio here, including: Evolution, ElkStudios, Pragmatic Play, Blueprint Gaming, NetEnt, Play'n Go, High 5 Games, and Red Tiger. I always like the diversity multi-developer sites offer but this has to be matched by good search options. Categories in the casino section include For You, New, Slots, Card & Table, Live Casino, Megaways, and Video Poker. While there's a search option it seems to be for game titles only, with no capacity to filter by developer. Within the slots section games can be ordered by trending, alphabetically, or newness.
The 923 slots is a reasonable but not amazing figure, and the same applies to the live casino which has just 67 games. I was slightly disappointed. Seventeen are game shows, with baccarat, roulette, and blackjack forming most of the rest (there's also craps).
Payment Methods - Nice Variety And Low Minimum Thresholds
I like the range of options when it comes to banking, with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, Interac, ApplePay, and GooglePay all supported for transfers, as is Trustly online banking. Deposits start at $10, and withdrawals (using Interac) can be as low as $5, which is fantastic for those who like small stakes.
Pending periods are unfortunately common with online casinos, and here players can expect this to mostly be within 24 hours (but it can be as much as five business days, which I think is too long). After this, withdrawal times vary by method (PayPal's nice and quick at 30 minutes or so, for example).

Customer Support - Live Chat/E-mail/Telephone, And Great Help Centre
I'm not much of a telephone-user myself but it's still good to see it's available for contacting customer service (alongside live chat and e-mail). There's also a pretty extensive Help Centre that covers a lot of common queries a player might have without the need to spend time contacting customer service.
That's all good stuff, but it's worth noting back in 2023 that the AGCO fined PointsBet for responsible gambling failings. Part of this involved criticism of inadequate understanding and training of staff in this area, so I hope this has improved in the time since.

AGCO Licensing and Solid Array Of Responsible Gambling Tools
I never approve of a site that lacks appropriate regulation, and fortunately PointsBet Ontario has the necessary licensing from the AGCO. On the security front, the site indicates it only retains player data for as long as necessary, and that when info is no longer required it is deleted/de-identified. The casino also keeps personal information in a secure location which can only be accessed by authorised individuals.
Responsible gambling is important, even for a veteran, which is why the fine mentioned above caused me concern. When it comes to tools to prevent that sort of thing recurring, the casino offers the capacity to set daily/weekly/monthly limits on deposits, spendings, losses, and time limits. Players can also take time out with a 1-90 day break, or self-exclude for between 6 months and 5 years. Making a limit less restrictive involves a 24 hour cooling off period. The site has external links to organisations that can help, including ConnexOntario, the RGC, and the CAMH, plus blocking software like Gamban and Betblocker.
PointsBet On Mobile - Android And IOS Apps, Slightly Mixed Ratings
I prefer a big screen and comfy chair, but if you game on the go then Points Bet Ontario has apps for both iOS and Android devices. The App Store has a 4.5 star average rating from 1.8k reviewers, while Google Play rates it just 2.9 star from 880 reviews. The games themselves should present no problem, as all online casino sites in Ontario are designed to work seamlessly with smartphones and tablets.

Final Verdict - Slightly Small, But Not Bad
Unusually for the casinos I review, PointsBet Ontario feels more like a sportsbook with a casino section rather than the other way around. That's not to say it's bad, I like the diverse banking methods and multiple developers. Transfer limits are nice and low, and there are mobile apps.
The downside is the provision of games is a bit lower than other sites, with under 1,000 slots and 100 live casino tables. And the $150k AGCO fine for responsible gambling failings (admittedly from 2023) wasn't reassuring. However, it does now offer a good range of responsible gaming tools. Assuming that it's learnt its lesson in that regard, I think 3.5/5 is fair.
