Players in Ontario spent CA$8.55 billion on wagering across the iGaming market in September 2025. This is a wagering record for the second month in a row. The figure for September is up 5% on the $8.14 billion wagered in August.

The monthly figures released from iGaming Ontario also show that this is 30.7% higher than that of September 2024.

CA$8.55 Billion on iGaming Wagering in Ontario

According to iGaming Ontario's latest monthly report, casinos were the most popular with CA$7.34 billion in wagers. Sports betting was in second place with CA$1.06 billion in bets and in third place was poker at CA$1.44 million for the month of September.

The non-adjusted gross revenue was CA$329 million for September which was 1.8% less than that of August but it was 18.8% more than that of last year. It was also the sixth month in a row where Ontario's revenue exceeded $300 million.

CA$277.8 million came from casino gaming which makes up 84.4% of all revenue from September. Sports betting was CA$46.5 million and poker was CA$5.1 million.

Ontario 2025 Revenue Up Nearly 40% Since Last 2024

The result from September shows a continued growth at online casinos in Ontario with the province now almost 40% above 2024 revenues for the first nine months of 2025. In the last four months we have seen growth of over 40%. The table below shows the revenue percentages for each month of the year so far.

Month 2024 Revenue 2025 Revenue Percentage Increase January CA$165.6 million CA$231.0 million 39.5% February CA$163.8 million CA$214.0 million 30.6% March CA$182.6 million CA$241.7 million 32.4% April CA179.3 million CA242.8 million 35.4% May CA$178.6 million CA$259.8 million 45.5% June CA$171.5 million CA$243.0 million 41.7% July CA$183.6 million CA$252.3 million 37.4% August CA$185.5 million CA$267.8 million 44.4% September CA$196.7% million CA$277.8 million 41.2% TOTALS CA$1.61 billion CA$2.23 billion 38.5%

The table shows that Ontario has generated over CA$620 million more in revenue when compared with 2024.

One thing that was surprising was that online poker saw a decrease in revenue compared to a year ago, but that could change now that GGPoker Ontario has launched online satellites for the WSOP Montreal Circuit festival and PokerStars COOP has returned to Ontario as well. ClubWPT Gold is also preparing for a Canada poker launch which could help things as well.

In 2024, there were only three months where the iGaming wagers in Ontario surpassed CA$6 billion. In 2025, the lowest amount recorded in on month was CA$6.07 billion in February. For every other month, we've seen it reach over CA$6.35 billion.

Record Number of Active Ontario Player Accounts

As well as record spending, there was an all time high for active player accounts in the province as well. In September there were over 1.2 million active accounts which is more than any other month.

The average revenue per player account did slip to CA$282 which is down from CA$330 in August and CA$320 in September in 2024. It is also the lowest monthly total since February.

Whether this increases or decreases for October, we have yet to see. New licenses are being acquired from gaming providers. In August the AGCO officially granted Incentive Games an iGaming license which allows it to provide its real money games to licensed operators in Ontario. Absolutebet Corp also announced in September that they have received an iGaming Ontario license and they plan to launch a new Ontario online casino by December 2025.
