BetBlocker App Now Includes Self-Exclusion in Syrian Arabic Language
In February 2026, BetBlocker added Greek language support to their app. In April they added a localized language version for Slovakia. Now they have followed it up with the addition of Syrian Arabic to assist communities that may have been displaced following years of conflict or those who may have poor access to support resources.
BetBlocker is a self-exclusion tool that's free to use and it has been expanding the number of support languages available over the past number of years. The idea behind the app is to provide people who need help with the resources they need in their native language no matter where in the world they are located.
The founder and trustee for BetBlocker, Duncan Garvie, said, "I'm always happy when BetBlocker can line up priorities for where our work for mature markets also facilitates us extending protections to underserved populations. Our project to deliver Ukrainian as part of the Improving Outcomes for Minority Communities fund via GambleAware in the UK was a great example of a project that met the needs of the UK funding system, while concurrently extending the support we could offer to an entirely new project."
BetBlocker Helping Vulnerable Communities
The addition of Syrian Arabic is focused on those who have may have been affected by years of conflict in Syria and may have been displaced. These are people who may have had to relocate to different countries around the world. Immigrants and minorities can be susceptible to gambling-related harm and may need support resources available on the BetBlocker app.
Garvie said, "BetBlocker's uptake in Syria is climbing rapidly at the moment, and this new launch should ensure that far more people who need support can access it."
BetBlocker reaches over 250,000 registered users as of 2025, according to statistics released, and it continues to offer its self-exclusion solutions and responsible gambling help in 2026.
With additional language support being added. BetBlocker is available globally and the tool is available in countries including Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Kenya, Romania, Brazil, and more.
It provides a blocking software that allows users to self-exclude from online casinos and sports betting sites. The service is free of charge and anonymous. BetBlocker's global solution allows immediate self-exclusion from over 339,000 gambling websites and 1,500 gambling apps at the time of writing and it is set to continue to expand.
